Let’sRent Privacy Policy
Effective date: 30 August 2026
Last updated: 30 August 2026
1. About this Privacy Policy
Let’sRent is a rental decision-support application designed to help renters save, inspect, score and compare rental properties.
We respect your privacy and aim to collect and use only the information reasonably necessary to provide and operate Let’sRent.
This Privacy Policy explains how Let’sRent collects, stores, uses, protects and discloses information when you use the app.
This policy has been prepared with regard to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
The Australian Privacy Principles are 13 principles governing standards, rights and obligations relating to the collection, use, disclosure, security, access and correction of personal information.
2. Information Let’sRent collects
You do not need to provide your name, email address or phone number to use the current version of Let’sRent.
When you use Let’sRent, you may choose to enter information about rental properties you are considering.
Depending on how you use the app, this may include:
- rental property details, such as an address or other property information;
- rental price and budget information;
- inspection dates;
- notes and information you enter about a rental;
- photos you choose to add;
- your answers to rental inspection questions;
- rental scores and comparison results; and
- technical information reasonably necessary to operate, maintain and synchronise the app.
Some rental information may constitute personal information depending on what you enter into the app. You should avoid including unnecessary personal or sensitive information in rental notes or photographs.
Let’sRent does not require you to provide personal information that is unnecessary for the app's rental comparison functionality.
3. Rental information stored on your device
Let’sRent is designed to continue providing core functionality when an internet connection is unavailable.
Rental information may therefore be stored locally on your device.
Local storage allows you to access and work with saved rental information when you are offline and supports synchronisation when a connection becomes available.
Removing the app, resetting your device or deleting locally stored information may result in the loss of information that has not been successfully synchronised.
4. Inspection answers
Your individual inspection answers are stored locally on your device.
These answers help Let’sRent calculate and display information about a property during the inspection and comparison process.
Your overall rental score or result may form part of the rental information that is synchronised using Let’sRent's cloud infrastructure.
This means the detailed answers you select during an inspection may remain local even where the resulting rental score or other rental information is synchronised.
5. Photos
Let’sRent allows you to choose photographs from your device or take photographs for use with a saved rental.
Photos you choose to add may be stored locally and may also be uploaded to secure cloud infrastructure so that they can be associated with your rental information and supported by Let’sRent's synchronisation functionality.
Let’sRent does not use your rental photographs for advertising.
You should avoid photographing people, documents or other information that you do not need for your rental inspection or comparison.
6. Cloud storage and synchronisation
Certain rental information and photos may be securely transmitted to and stored using Let’sRent's cloud infrastructure.
Cloud storage allows supported information to be synchronised, recovered and made available as part of the app's functionality.
Let’sRent uses third-party technology and cloud infrastructure providers to operate these services.
We take reasonable measures designed to protect information from unauthorised access, misuse, interference, loss, modification and disclosure.
However, no electronic storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
7. Why we use your information

We do not use your rental information or photographs for advertising.
If our information practices materially change in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
9. Third-party service providers
Let’sRent relies on third-party technology and infrastructure providers to provide parts of the app's functionality.
These providers may process or store information on our behalf where necessary to provide services such as cloud hosting, storage, synchronisation and technical infrastructure.
We seek to limit the information handled by service providers to information reasonably necessary to provide the relevant service.
Third-party service providers may operate infrastructure outside Australia.
10. Overseas storage and processing
Let’sRent uses cloud infrastructure located in Singapore. As a result, certain rental information and photos that are synchronised with our cloud service may be stored or processed in Singapore.
Let’sRent uses third-party technology and cloud infrastructure providers to operate these services.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information handled through our service providers and to ensure that information is handled appropriately in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.
Where personal information is disclosed to an overseas recipient, the requirements of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, including APP 8 where applicable, may apply.
11. Data security
We take reasonable measures designed to protect information handled through Let’sRent from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure.
These measures may include appropriate access controls, secure communications and protections provided by our technology and cloud infrastructure.
For security reasons, this Privacy Policy does not disclose detailed information about the architecture, credentials, security configuration or internal infrastructure used to operate Let’sRent.
You are also responsible for maintaining the security of your device and should use the security features available on your device where appropriate.
12. Accessing or correcting your information
You can access and edit much of the rental information you have entered directly through the Let’sRent app.
If you believe information associated with you that is held through Let’sRent is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading, or you would like to request access to personal information held about you, you can contact us at:
We may need sufficient information to identify the relevant information and verify that we are dealing with the appropriate person before responding to a request.
The APP framework requires an APP privacy policy to explain how people can seek access to and correction of their personal information.
13. Data deletion and retention
You may delete rental information through functionality made available within Let’sRent.
Where information has been synchronised with our cloud infrastructure, deletion may also need to be processed through our systems.
We may retain information for a limited period where reasonably necessary for technical, security, backup, legal or operational purposes.
Where information is no longer reasonably required, we will handle it in accordance with applicable privacy obligations.
If you need assistance concerning deletion of information associated with you, contact:
14. Children
Let’sRent is designed as a rental decision-support tool and is not specifically directed at children.
We do not knowingly design the service for the purpose of collecting personal information from children.
15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Let’sRent develops, our technology changes, or legal and regulatory requirements change.
The current version will identify its effective date and last-updated date.
Where appropriate, material changes may also be communicated through the app or other Let’sRent channels.
OAIC recommends regularly reviewing an APP privacy policy so that it continues to accurately reflect an organisation's information-handling practices.
16. Australian Privacy Principles
The Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) form part of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
There are 13 Australian Privacy Principles governing the handling of personal information by organisations and agencies to which they apply.

letsrentsupport@gmail.com
Please provide enough information for us to understand and investigate your concern.
We will consider privacy complaints and aim to respond within a reasonable period.
OAIC guidance says that, in most cases, a privacy complaint should first be made in writing to the organisation and it should ordinarily be given a reasonable time — usually 30 days — to respond.
If you are not satisfied with our response after communicating with Let’sRent, or your privacy concern remains unresolved, you may be able to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
